Reality Check

STOP EASTON PARK

REALITY CHECK NEEDED

We have seen the recent Conservative Party flyer that is being distributed to residents ahead of the upcoming local elections on the 4th of May. SEP is not political and is not backing any particular party but we feel we needed to undertake a reality check of some of the disingenuous statements made in the flyer below. We would like to remind Mr Rolfe and his conservative colleagues that the proposed development site at Little Easton that they highlight in the flyer is precisely the same site that they themselves proposed for a 10,000-house new town in their failed 2019 Local Plan.

Mr Rolfe may also recall the planning inspectors’ comments in 2020 that the Easton Park proposal for a 10,000-house new town was “flawed”. This was the case in 2020 and remains the case today. SEP will continue to oppose any development at Easton Park whichever party is in power in Uttlesford. As residents we are saddened to see the negative campaigning methods we have come to expect at national level being brought into our local elections.

With our thanks for your continued support.
